BB Digest: AI video on your laptop

PLUS: Draw yourself on X

Hey folks, tomorrow’s workshop: How Enterprise SaaS can leverage AI is going to be a really interesting dive into how organisations can use AI to boost productivity.

Alright, let’s get to it!

  • Tencent just released a video-generation model. Its generations are rated better than RunwayML’s Gen-3, Luma and other Chinese models. It's open source AND small enough (13B params) to run on your laptop! This year AI images went from "hmm, that looks AI-ish" to "wait, that's AI?"... well, looks like 2025 is gonna do the same thing to video.

  • Grok in X now refers to your username and profile image to create funny images like “Draw me as a Pixar character”. Quick nerdy side note: There are two models at work here, Grok (sees images and describes them), and Flux model by BFL (makes images). Usually, this kind of patchwork is why image generation in other AI apps feels... well, patchy. But, as models are getting better, the gaps are getting harder to point out.

  • Wondering how you can better track Azure OpenAI usage and performance? Get the cheatsheet to see how you can monitor API requests and token usage, and track performance in aggregate as well as by language model, from a preconfigured dashboard. Download it here.*

  • Gemini Advanced now has two new extensions: Google Keep and Tasks for workspace users (as well as WhatsApp for Android users). I might need to turn the Keep extension off. I keep using “note this” in my prompts to guide the AI and Gemini thinks I want it to make a note 😅.

  • OpenAI wants to trademark “Open o1” and might be looking at bringing ads to ChatGPT.

Learn how to create jingles with AI

Your boss just dropped a holiday campaign on your desk. Due next week. Including a catchy jingle. Sure, no pressure! While you could panic, here's a better idea: put your creative energy into the message and emotional hooks, and let AI handle the time-consuming music production.

Step 1. Get the lyrics right

Start by having a heart-to-heart with Claude about your jingle needs. Share your brand's personality, the feelings you want to evoke, and those key phrases that need to shine. You might be surprised–after a few back-and-forths, you'll have lyrics that capture your message perfectly.

Step 2. Turn words into music

  • Feed your lyrics into Suno (it's like GarageBand's AI cousin)

  • Play around with different music styles - from corporate smooth to holiday cheerful

  • Try a few versions - sometimes the AI surprises you with interpretations

  • Keep tweaking until it sounds natural, not forced

  • Save your favourites and share them with the team

Tip: Keep your lyrics simple and singable. AI will likely struggle with tongue-twisters and you don’t wanna end up in Coca-Cola’s shoes.
