🔎 Trends & news
Sam Altman himself leaked OpenAI’s roadmap on Twitter yesterday. GPT-4.5 (internally called Orion) is the last non-reasoning model from OpenAI. GPT-5 will be a system with levels of intelligence based on pricing tiers. It’ll be a unified model with access to all tools like Search, Canvas, Thinking, Deep Research etc. Users will not have to pick from half a dozen different options—it’ll just work.
The tentative timeline for GPT-4.5/GPT-5 is weeks/months as per Sam. I assume that means March end/mid-May.
Working in that direction: o3-mini can now see images in ChatGPT and the limit for o3-mini-high is now 50 messages/day (up from 50/week). OpenAI’s o3 also got a gold medal at the International Olympiad in Informatics.
OpenAI also updated its Model Spec - A guide that tells its models how to behave. This document is also open for anyone to read and use.
Soon Deep Research will be available to Plus (10 queries/mo) and free ChatGPT users (2 queries/mo).
Bolt can now create mobile apps too, and Create offers a built-in database for apps built on it.
Adobe has finally launched its Firefly video generation feature to users along with a new Firefly app and standalone pricing plans for it. Generate Video is now in public beta, allowing anyone to generate five-second video clips at 1080p. The new Firefly app also allows you to create multimodal workflows with images, videos and audio.
