PLUS: Code Llama and nature inspired AI.

Hello folks, here’s what we have today;

 Our picks

AI bots are now better than humans at decoding CAPTCHAs. CAPTCHAs have acted as the identifier of humans vs bots on the web for a long time, but it’s time for their fall. Meta is preparing to release Code Llama. Code Llama will be a free open-source code-generating AI model. It could be released as soon as next week.

Top Google AI experts pick Japan to set up their own startup. Llion Jones (co-author of Google's transformer paper) and David Ha (former head of Google's AI research arm in Japan) launch Sakana AI in Tokyo. The word is Sakana’s research is inspired by concepts from nature, such as evolution and collective intelligence. Unpaywalled article here.
