Daily Digest: AI threat detection

PLUS: A simple prompting tool

Hello folks, here’s what we have today (no summaries due to sickness, sorry);

PICKS
  1. I spoke with Stripe, Google, Intercom, Zapier and others on how they encourage AI adoption for their teams. A ton of interesting insights and all fit into 9 ways you can do it too.

  2. Open AI is building an early warning system for LLM-aided biological threat creation. Saving you a read—The results found small but non-significant increases in accuracy and completeness for participants who had access to GPT-4 compared to the internet only.

  3. Mistral Confirms New Open Source AI Model Nearing GPT-4 Performance. Here’s what went down:

    • An anonymous user posted files on HuggingFace that comprised a new open-source large language model called "miqu-1-70b" which showed performance near GPT-4.

    • Some speculated it was a new Mistral model being "leaked" by the company, as Mistral is known for dropping new models without announcement.

    • Mistral's CEO later confirmed it was a quantized (number format changed) version of an old Mistral model that an enthusiastic employee had leaked.

    • Mistral has made progress in training newer models since then and the CEO hinted they may match or exceed GPT-4 performance with future models.

  4. Applications for AI Grant Batch 3 are open - now with the option of a $250k uncapped note or $2.5M on a $25M cap

p.s. If we launched a course to teach you something about AI, what would you be most interested in learning?

What would you want to learn?
