2. OpenAI recently announced discounted pricing for educational institutions and non-profits, but it wouldn't be OpenAI without a little drama, would it?

   • Allegedly, Microsoft has been pushing for commercial products recently, increasing internal tensions.

   • OpenAI also hit back at accounts linked to covert influence operations from Russia, China and Israel, removing their access to its systems.

3. Amazon Fire TV gets a new AI search that lets you chat with Alexa to find stuff to watch, using a new LLM from Amazon itself. It's rolling out now to Fire TVs running Fire OS 6 or higher. While it can handle some specific requests, it still struggles with broader ones and needs to improve its recommendations.

4. Apple is giving Siri a major upgrade with AI, letting users control individual functions inside apps. This means Siri will be able to do things like open documents, send emails, or even summarize articles just by asking. This update, coming to iOS 18 next year, will first work with Apple's apps but will eventually expand to more.
