Hey folks, today we have Google’s new advice for its own employees to not trust bard with sensitive info. Meta is gearing up for the next version of their open-source model LLaMA with commercial use allowed.

Let’s get to it.

Next-Level Automation series with Zapier

Hi y’all! It’s Toni, a project manager at Zapier. Dropping in for the next iteration of the Next-Level Automation series with Zapier (see what I did there?), where we’ll spotlight how AI can revolutionize your workflows.

At Zapier, we’re always trying to redefine the status quo, and it’s no different when it comes to project management. If anything, it’s that much more critical that we go beyond what’s ordinary when it comes to project management and deliver something exceptional. That’s where AI comes in.

By harnessing the power of AI, I’ve been able to streamline project management tasks to save time, reduce errors, and keep my teams aligned. Want to see how? Join us for our first-ever Zapathon on June 20th to see me, plus many other other Zap Builders, showcase our relevant AI-powered Zapier use cases. Sign up here.

Alphabet (Google’s parent company) is now telling its staff to use AI chatbots cautiously, including their own baby Bard. The caution isn’t new, Amazon has banned ChatGPT use, and so has Samsung, but it’s funny coming from Google.

They are also advising the staff not to use Bard generate code without careful inspection. The bit about confidentiality seems okay to me, but can’t help but wonder whether they don’t have an internal version of the tool, since the tool does increase productivity.

Alright, Meta got some flak for saying LLaMA is open when it is not commercially available. Now, they are going one step ahead: improving the LLaMA model while allowing you to use it for your product and make money off it. Zuck is in a win-win position: They enhance internal AI products using open-source improvements and earn developer trust.

This is in the pipeline now and raises many concerns for Google and Open AI, who are still hiding their models in the closet. I think we’ll see them making their old models open-source in the upcoming weeks.
