New image model from Stable Diffusion
PLUS: Robots that learn, $100M AWS fund and other open source models.
Hey folks, today we have a bunch of new model releases: SDXL from Stability AI, MPT-30B from Mosaic ML, and Inflection-1 from Inflection.
Add in some robots learning from human action and Amazon’s $100M fund for AI companies.
Let’s get to it.

Generate your own game-ready 3D models, textures and animations - with just a few words!
Game ready means that these assets are optimized and ready for use in gaming engines (like Unity), virtual worlds (like VRChat), and more!Use AI to generate 3D objects, unique styles, and key movements - all with a short sentence.

We’ve been getting quite a bit of robot action this week and we’re hitting you with some more to close the week off. This time we’re seeing developments in training robots to copy videos of human actions, and crack on themselves. Previously, they’ve had to be put into the exact environment the video was in, but now researchers have got them to generalise the actions to totally new environments. They can watch a video, focus on the action, and often execute it in all sorts of situs.

Stability AI are hitting the headlines again, and luckily this time it’s nothing to do with questions around the CEO’s integrity… they’re releasing a new model for Stable Diffusion (their AI image generator), and it massively improves image composition and detail. No, seriously, check out those examples in their post - the detail is spot on.

If you’re up for hearing some of the vaguest sales language you’ll ever hear, click the link above - it’s classic! Anyway, despite that, this one is defo gonna be of interest to a lotta you. Amazon’s AWS are launching a $100m funding program for generative AI initiatives, but it’s not open to everyone. It’s targeted at data scientists, strategists, engineers etc. affiliated with AWS, connecting them with customers and partners. Makes sense… if you want them to pay you, then pay them first!
