Wave of ChatGPT apps

PLUS: how did Open AI reduce prices 10x.

Hey folks, this is probably the email with the most links I’ve ever sent. Expected because of the ChatGPT API announcement, so apologies for that. Luckily, a coworker of mine made this workflow: Auto Archive old emails from Ben’s Bites.

You don’t wanna feel guilty missing an email or 2. I encourage people to dip in and out of the email, the links etc - there’s a lot - you don’t need to consume it all.

Burgers and beers this weekend, have a great one.

Let’s get to it.

🤌 Our Picks

Highlights if you've only got 2 minutes

1/ Building AI apps gets even easier on Zapier; ChatGPT and Zapbots.

For those that don’t know, I work at Zapier (they acquired my previous company 2 years ago this week actually). Anyway, we’ve been experimenting with AI and yesterday shipped; ChatGPT Integration on Zapier (it includes a memory feature 🤯 ) and Zapbots. Zapbots is the easiest way to build AI apps, simply enter the fields you want users to submit, add the logic (e.g. make a recipe for ) and the app is live for you to share with others!

Massive probs to the Zapier team shipping this these - more releases coming soon.

This Twitter mega thread might look like a daunting length to dive into, but I promise you won’t regret it. There’s so much useful info on the recent OpenAI release, I even assumed the guy worked there until I got to the end! Their 90% cost reduction is actually 96% when you factor in last year’s drop; he gives us a neat little spreadsheet to compare LLM providers; and finds that actually, this new one can’t quite handle the complexity of ChatGPT, but the accessibility and speed makes it worth it. Also, let’s appreciate the coining of this phrase: “Universal Basic Intelligence”. The chatbot revolution is providing a basic level of intelligence to everyone at cheap costs - nice.

When an AI study coach is just a “Join the waitlist” button away, I can’t help but get great vibes around AI democratisation and benefits for all. Rather than just providing info to answer student questions, Q-chat by Quizlet uses the Socratic method to encourage critical thinking and deepen understanding of the topics at hand. You can learn languages, opt to get quizzed on material you’ve learnt, and interact with the bot like it’s your very own teacher. I’ve got a huge passion when it comes to accessible education, so I love tools like this. A star!
